Privacy policy

This explains what Playrs (playrs.app) collects about you, why, and your rights. Playrs is run by the Playrs team, who is responsible for your data (the “controller”). Contact: support@playrs.app.
What we collect
- Your account: your name and email address. If you sign up with a password it is stored, encrypted, by Google Firebase; we never see it. If you use “Continue with Google”, we get your name and email from Google.
- Your user ID: the ID you choose (e.g. @sam_k). Anyone can look it up to invite you to a squad. If a squad leader links you to one of their players and you accept, that squad’s members can see which player is you, and you can see your ratings and matchdays across squads.
- Squad data you add online: squad names, players’ names and their attacking, defending and fitness scores, match history, and the email addresses of people you share a squad with and their access level.
- Your subscription: whether you subscribe, plan dates, currency and a Stripe customer number. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Your country: worked out from your internet connection when you view prices, so we can show £, € or $. It isn’t stored.
- On your device: the app keeps your data in your browser’s storage so it works offline. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and don’t track you.
Players you add
If you add other people to a squad, only add what’s needed to pick teams (a first name or nickname is fine), and make sure they’re happy to be included. Anyone can ask us to remove their details.
Why we use it
- To provide Playrs: keep your squads in sync across devices and share them with the people you choose (needed to provide the service you signed up for).
- To take payments and keep the financial records the law requires.
- To send emails about the service: verifying your email, resetting your password, and warning you 7 days before an unpaid squad is deleted.
We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising, or send marketing emails.
Who processes it for us
- Google (Firebase): sign-in and the online database.
- Cloudflare: hosting playrs.app. Its servers keep short-term logs, including IP addresses, for security.
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions. Stripe is also responsible for the payment data it holds; see stripe.com/privacy.
- Resend: sending the squad deletion reminder emails.
Some of these companies process data in the United States. Transfers are protected by the UK–US data bridge, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, as applicable.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it (Squads tab → Delete my account).
- A squad’s online data: while someone with edit access subscribes. Once nobody does, it’s deleted after 90 days, with a reminder email 7 days before.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires (usually 6 years in the UK).
- Copies saved on your own devices stay until you remove them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your data, or object to how we use it. You can export your squad yourself from History → Backup & restore. To use your rights, email support@playrs.app. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or your local data protection authority in the EU. Residents of US states such as California have similar rights to know about and delete their data; we don’t sell or share personal information.
Children
You must be 16 or over to create an account. Squad organisers who add children as players should only add a first name and get a parent’s OK.
Security
Everything is sent over HTTPS. Database rules mean only you and the people you share a squad with can see it.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app or by email about important changes.
